Various skull illustrations that I have done for different projects and clients.
This was a commissioned illustration I did for a client to give to her daughter as a birthday present. She wanted a skull, but she wanted it to be feminine and stylish, which is why I added the flowers in a pinky / reddy tone. This was all hand drawn, then painted with watercolour and then scanned in to add touch ups and colour digitally. It was then printed onto a large canvas.
A client came to me wanting one of my skull paintings with the words ‘Smash the Patriarchy’ paired with it to make a print that would be printed onto t-shirts, iPhone cases, canvases etc. The skull was hand drawn and painted with watercolour, and then scanned in to be touched up digitally. The words are hand drawn in my own style of typography.
For those who don’t know the famous artist @dinotomic (instagram profile), he often holds drawing competitions in which hundreds of artists around the world choose to participate in, whether it is for fun or to try and win the prizes that are up for grabs. For me, I decided to do it for fun, as I love to draw skulls! This particular competition was to copy a picture of a skull, that Dinotomic posted, as closely as you could. There were three categories in which you could enter your drawing: colour, black and white, or fantasy. I chose fantasy as I wanted to incorporate half of an Earth onto the skull. I painted the skull in watercolour and then scanned it in to digitally add the map and touch up.
